Museum Haus Cajeth

An urban treasure chest

Amidst the old town of Heidelberg, a treasure chest is hidden: The museum Haus Cajeth for Primitive Painting – Art of Outsiders – still emits a magnificent splendour despite its long-standing history. The charm of the exquisite stucco ceilings, the lovingly designed woodwork and the interior fittings, specially designed for the museum by founder Egon Hassbecker whisper to their discoverers: „Welcome, you’ve come to the right place.“ Part of the treasure are the magnificent works of the outsider artists, people with disabilites, whose soulful paintings are

shown here in the exhibition gallery four times a year.
A small bookshop with select works invites visitors to browse and discover. Together with universities, co.build develops concepts regarding the subject of exhibition, event and optimization of the function rooms. A meeting point for generations, literature, inventions and installations is meant to enhance the historically grown structure with current aspects and thereby enable ist continued existence for future generations.
